Home service business owners, don't get locked into a long-term bad deal when it comes to your marketing.
Do your research before signing a long-term contract with any advertising service provider. Review the terms and conditions and make sure you know:
📅 Length of the contract: many companies lock-you-in for 6-12 months
💰 Termination fees: some popular local listings charge 36% or higher to get out
👺 Real requirements to meet any kind of "guarantee", especially potential money-back guarantees (the requirements are often impossible to meet)
Avoid long-term contracts with service directories, like Angi, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, and others. These companies can be potential money pits that don't deliver the results your business needs.
Another thing to consider is how industries and markets change throughout the year. Long-term contracts can lock businesses into expensive service terms, hindering their ability to adapt and stay competitive.
